Attendees: Joan Birch '51, Kay Clark '46, Charlie Fischer '64,
"Pete" French '53, Pete Heinrich '55, Scott Miller '54, Ryan Pacatte,
BHS, Mary Louise Riter '52, Minutes from November 20, 2002: Corrected and accepted from October
23, 2003. Treasurer's Report: Total funds: $3096.25 FUNDRAISING: Ruth Thaler-Carter distributed copies of the letter she
composed which can be copied to be sent to class members after a reunion, along
with the brochure, to encourage contributions for the BSAA projects as she
proposed at the last meeting. The article in the district newsletter (written by
Norma Press) will include a paragraph provided by Ruth concerning tax savings.
Pete French proposed putting a letter on the website which could then be printed
and used as a mailing as well, BSAA to pay for postage. A reminder was made to
encourage the use of the Brighton Pittsford Post and Carol Ritter's column in
the D&C as often as possible. BHS RENOVATIONS FRONT ENTRANCE: No committee report. Ryan Pacatte
assured the Committee that Dr. Peris will not go forward with the doors until he
confers with Pete Heinrich. Presently, the district has purchased Auditorium
replacement doors with built in mutton bars, but hasn't the manpower for
installation. MARQUEE: Pete French reported that the estimate of replacing the
marquee would be roughly $20,000. Each side of the sign would be approximately
$6,500. Materials and labor by outside electrical contractor would be
approximately $7,000. The district would cover the cost of the electrical
installations. COURTYARD: A handout was presented to the board listing potential
uses of the courtyard and a list of the materials necessary to construct the
courtyard as envisioned by the Maintenance Staff. They are enthusiastic about
having running or falling water and Doug Pacatte suggested the use of a
millstone as part of the water feature described by Bill Maxwell and Rob Luce.
Scott Miller is the board member working on these plans. Pete Heinrich will
investigate the possibility of a millstone contribution from the Daisy Flour
Mill. This will be a priority project that Doug would like to start in spring
2004.It is understood that the district would maintain the completed project. HALL OF FAME No committee meeting. Ruth handed out a page of
"starting points" and asked for suggestions from board members. The
task force (Charlie Fischer, Scott Miller, Warren Riter, and Ruth Thaler-Carter)
will have a meeting prior to the next board meeting and then get together with
members of the BHS Administration to have the criteria approved. Suggestions of
criteria : accomplishments would be achieved after graduation from BHS.
Additional accomplishments would include business, interpersonal relationships,
people who make a difference, public service. Ryan Pacatte reported that space
is available for the location of the Wall of Fame between the two fire doors
near the Auditorium or space in the Main Entrance. The continuing discussion of
the qualifications for a sports award included the suggestion that BHS
participation led to sports accomplishment after graduation or, if the player
did not get deserved recognition during participation in high school. ARCHIVE ROOM The committee members had no report. They were reminded
that the Brighton Education Fund would like to share space in the Archive Room.
Search for used equipment: tables, chairs, filing cabinets, lockable storage
cabinets. WEBSITE TASK FORCE Plans were made for a meeting on January 19, 2004
